On Sep. 9th, 2006, Northwest Administration of CAAC awarded Airworthiness Certification of Forward Fuselage of Aircraft 01 to ACAC. It is also the Handover Ceremony of the Aircraft 01 Forward fuselage from Xi’an Aircraft Industry (Group) Company Ltd. (XAC) to Shanghai Aircraft Manufactory Factory (SAMF). The full-scale trial-manufacture of ARJ21 new regional aircraft has reached the first significant milestone.

 

Mr. Lin Zuoming, Secretary of Party Branch, President of AVIC I, and the Chief Director of ARJ21 Program, sent congratulatory letter for it. Leaders from Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, Minister of Finance and XAC made speeches and gave congratulations on this ceremony. Leaders   of CAAC and departments involved in the new regional aircraft project attended ceremony.

 

Development and Manufacture of the Forward fuselage of Aircraft 01 has last for 10 months from Nov., 2005, when the forward fuselage was riveted, to Sep.6^th, 2006. This success went through all developments and manufacture processes and validates the system and process of quality management, including the airworthiness management, which will save the time and resource greatly during the manufacture of middle fuselage. Also, this delivery pushes the development and manufacture of all the systems and parts, and also the ARJ21 Program.

 

Mr. Liyuhai , Vice President of AVIC I and Vice General Director of ARJ21 Program emphasized that the delivery of FWD fuselage on schedule means the development and the manufacture of ARJ21 Aircraft as a key national construction program, had made important success, which means ARJ21 aircraft program win the first battle. Now, the manufacture of the tooling, assemblies of the parts and the task of airworthiness certificate have been finished and a series of key technical issues have been broken through. XAC undertook almost 60% of the ARJ21 aircraft’s manufacture work, which is heavy and difficult. Delivery of FWD fuselage on time successfully set a basis for the development and manufacture of ARJ21 aircraft.

 

AVIC- I restated that development and manufacture of ARJ21 aircraft is a key program for AVIC I. Mr. Linzuoming, Secretary of the Party, President of AVIC I, works as the General Director of ARJ21 Program; Leaders of every domestic partners directs on the battlefront. Tests on ARJ21 Program have been carried out in full swing, the design of tooling has been finished, the parts manufacture and assembly are carried on successfully on schedule,  planes sale would probably make another great progress again, the Certification job is moving forward successfully, and the customer service centre will be crowned sealing at the end of  2006.
