The Review meeting on ARJ21 Aircraft Program turning into the full-scale trial-manufacture phase was held by COSTIND in Beijing on May 31st, 2006. As yet, all the partners have strived for 4 years, solved series of technical problems, and finally finished the task of designing and successfully enter into a new stage.

 

Attendees are COSTIND Director Mr. Zhang Yunchuan, Vice Director Mr. Jin Zhuanglong, Secretary-general Mr. Huang qiang, AVIC- I President Mr. Liugaozhuo, Vice President Mr. Yangyuzhong, Mr. Guhuizhong, Mr. Xuhuangang, Mr. Hu wenming, Mr. Zheng rongsheng, Assistant President Mr. Zhengqiang, leaders from ADRC, Ministry of Finance, General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, State Administration of Taxation, China Custom, airline enterprises and undertakings, airlines and journalists.

 

The meeting was presided over by Mr.Jin Zhuanglong. Mr.Yang yuzhong ,Vice President of AVIC -I and Chairman of the Board of ACAC made a report about the status of ARJ21 program in general. Mr. Wuguanghui , general designer of ARJ21 and president of the First Aircraft Institute(FAI) introduced the design status of ARJ21 aircraft in detail. In the meeting, Mr. Gu Songfen , Academician announced the opinion of the Expert Judge Team.

 

The opinion is as followed. FAI of AVIC-I conquered series of pivotal problems, such as aircraft overweight, flow distortion at the inlet of aeroengine, and deep stall characteristics by preliminary design, critical design and the subsequent design optimization. The general pneumatic power performance, structure design of ARJ21 aircraft and system design have achieved the design goals;All drawings and technical documents are complete. The System Joint Define and PDR have been finished, and some products have been delivered Suppliers managements are well-handled.

 

Experts Judge Team drew the conclusion that ARJ21 Aircraft Program developed smoothly, and had completed its detail design, and permitted AARJ21 to safely turn into the trial-manufacture phase.

 

As customers of ARJ21 Aircraft, Shandong Airlines and Shanghai Airlines expressed their willingness to support the development of civil aircrafts, and their wish to fly a Chinese own  regional civil aircraft as soon as possible.

 

Director Mr. Zhang Yunchuan said turning into the full-scale trial-manufacture phase means ARJ21 program has won a momentous victory. ARJ21 had born the historical task of national strategy, It is necessary to sustainable development of civil aviation industry, and it is crucial to develop the large aircraft,  so it is necessary for us to do everything at full steam during the full-scale trial-manufacture phase.
