| On March 30th, 2007, Ceremony for ARJ21 program commencing final assembly and testing were held at SAMF. Mr. Zheng Qiang ,president of ACAC preside over the ceremony, Mr. Lin Zuoming ,president of AVIC-1, declared final assembly and testing started up, then handed over the riveter to an exemplar from SAMF—— Mr. Jiang Shengkui. When the riveter was actuated by him, unanimous applauses were following to celebrate ARJ21 program come to final assembly and comprehensive trial phase.
ARJ21 aircraft program came into the phase of full-scale trial manufacture at the end of April, 2006. On Sep.9th, the first forward fuselage was delivered by XAC, which means the first objective on new stage had been achieved. On Nov.16th, the upper part of after fuselage was delivered by XAC ahead of schedule. On Nov.23th, the first pylon was delivered by SAC, which was bought overseas before. On Dec.20th, the first nose was delivered by CAC; on Dec.27th, the nether part of after fuselage was delivered by XAC. On March 7th, 2007, the most complex components of ARJ21－aircraft-wing and middle fuselage were delivered by XAC, which is a great breakthrough in the process of R/D and will support final assembly well; On March.13th, the first empennage of ARJ21 aircraft was delivered by SAC. Thus, important components such as nose ,forward fuselage wings,mid fuselage ,after fuselage ,empennage etc，were all preparing for final assembly.
As a series of advanced world-class regional aircrafts with independent property right owned by China, ARJ21 aircraft family is a key program of 11th-5-year plan to develop Chinese civil aircraft as well as strategic program for the sustainable development of aviation industry. Entering into final assembly and testing period means ARJ21 program is more closely to the success, and it indicates China civil aviation industry came into a new period. According to schedule, final assembly for static test aircraft will be accomplished at the end of September,2007,and final assembly for No.1 test aircraft will be accomplished at the end of December,2007;the first flight test will be in March ,2008. With type certificate attained on the 3rd quarter in 2008, the first aircraft will be delivered to client — Shandong aircraft company.
The attendees are Mr.Zhang Yunchuan，director of COSTIND, Mr.Han Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, other officials in shanghai government ,Minister of finance, presidents of AVIC-I, CAAC HuaDong bureau,ACAC, FAI, SAMF and representatives of overseas suppliers ,and reporters. Mr.Zhang Yunchuan said, standing for COSTIND, he is grateful to people working for ARJ21 program and government department supporting ARJ21 program. He required everyone engaged in ARJ21 program should have responsibilities, focus on quality and safety, put weigh on long duration and reliability, and meet airworthiness requirement on aircraft to make sure the program can be accomplished with high standard. Mr. Han Zheng gave congratulations on ceremony. He said ,In this pivotal period for aviation industry ,Shanghai would carried out strategy of central government, stick to scientific development view, and put weight on aviation industry .He insisted Shanghai would make use of local conditions to support aviation aircraft in the course of construction. He also denoted that Shanghai municipal party committee and municipal government would give AVIC—I the best service and offer more conveniences.
On the press conference after ceremony, Mr. Chen Jin, vice president of acac, issued that Collecting and choosing Chinese name for ARJ21 aircraft would commence on before long.
